Wilderness First Aid Campout

Several months ago, we scheduled a campout for this coming weekend to focus on Wilderness First Aid. We haven’t communicated much regarding the event since, so we need to assess the demand from the group for the event. Attendees should have completed the winter WFA class and be looking to expand their knowledge. There will be minimal classroom time, NO EXAM, and it will all be outdoors, rain or shine. The class will take place at Backbone State Park near Dundee, IA. The Group will be meeting at Kennedy High School at 5:00 PM to depart by 5:30 on Friday, August 19th. We will be staying in group campsite Y71 in the South Lake Campground for the duration of the weekend, but we will not always be within close proximity of our site, so you’ll need a bag that can transport some personal gear and a bit of medical gear to our injured victims, who may be out in the woods. We plan to return in the early afternoon on Sunday, August 21st and will be reconvening again at the Kennedy Parking Lot.

We need to hear from you to determine who is interested in this event so that we can complete planning elements for the weekend. You can indicate your interest by signing up at EventBrite.
